I’ve been a single mom for a few years now, and after 9 1/2 years on Twitter, I’m finally using it to get 140 character thoughts out of my head, rather than using it solely to share posts. I thought some of you might identify with these, single or not…
What was I going to do?
I’m just a mom, wandering around the house, trying to remember what I was about to do. 🤔#momlife

No coughing, no sneezing…
If you’ve given birth, you should be immune from any illness that causes you to sneeze repeatedly. #imjustsayin #crossyourlegs #pelvicfloor #betterdokegels 😂🤣

Trying to date for the first time in almost 20 years is…fun…
“The problem with being single in your 30’s is that the men who want a girlfriend already have a wife.” (Not my tweet, I just can’t find the source now.) #datingsucks #30sandsingle #fml

Motherhood is the best…
If you enjoy cleaning up messes you didn’t make, I cannot recommend #motherhood enough.

True…
If I go gray/bald or have a nervous breakdown, the youngest child is definitely at fault. 😂🤣 #motherhood #singlemom #omg #wtf

Definitely the hardest part.
The hardest part of #parenting is the #kids. #singlemom #singleparenting #saveme

One guarantee in parenting is that something’s gonna be sticky…
Why is the doorknob sticky? You know what? I don’t wanna know. #motherhood #everythingssticky #whyisitstickywhy

I have no idea what I’m doing, and I don’t feel like I’m doing anything well.
How do you work, take care of 3 kids, and go to college full time?
I’ll tell you a secret…
***leans in, looks around furtively***
*whispers*
I have no idea. #motherhood #singleparenting

And yet, sometimes they get along.
Sometimes I try to take care of myself.
Sometimes you just need a break.
Sometimes things just don’t go your way.
Sometimes you feel like you’re doing things right.
Sometimes they make you laugh.
And sometimes you need a little help from your friends.
To all the moms and dads out there, especially those doing it on your own…you’re not alone. I can almost guarantee that anything you’re thinking or feeling, the rest of us have experienced too!
